Artist Statement

Tessie Santiago

I paint what moves me. Sometimes it's a fleeting expression, a moment of joy, or the quiet beauty of an ordinary gesture. Other times, it's the raw energy of movement, the complexity of femininity, or the strength we discover within ourselves.

My Cuban heritage, my experiences in Spain, and my background as an actress have all shaped the way I see the world. I'm drawn to the stories people carry, the emotions they reveal, and the moments that make us human.

At the heart of my work is a celebration of life. I want my paintings to evoke feeling, spark curiosity, and bring color, beauty and a sense of vitality into the spaces they inhabit.
